The Heart behind the vineyard

  • Beard Mountain Vineyards was born from a desire to create more than just a place; it’s a space for connection, celebration, and lasting memories.

As a family, we’ve always been drawn to gathering people together, creating meaningful experiences, and making others feel at home. This vineyard is a reflection of that, an extension of what we value most: hospitality, connection, and celebrating life’s most important moments.

Our roots in Central Virginia date back to the 1970s, with our family’s business beginning in Charlottesville. With backgrounds in business, hospitality, and design, creating a space centered around experience and intention felt like a natural next step.

The vision for Beard Mountain Vineyards truly came to life during a family trip through Europe, where time spent exploring vineyards and sharing in those experiences sparked something deeper. We returned home knowing we wanted to bring that same sense of place, beauty, and connection back to where our story began and continue a legacy of family-built businesses.

Today, that vision is coming to life on our 170-acre estate in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where 15 acres of vines have been planted and something truly special is beginning to take shape.

As we thoughtfully build what’s to come, our hope is simple; to create a place where you can slow down, celebrate fully, and feel truly taken care of
